The Diabetes Center of Lamoille Valley, established in 1997, in association with the Johnson Health Clinic, was designed to bring comprehensive diabetes education and management services to the LamoilleValley Region.
Dorothy Malone-Rising MS, RN-CS, ANP, CDE, is the Program Director and Adult Nurse Practitioner, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator, and was named Vermont Nurse of the Year for 1999. She has over 23 years experience working with people with diabetes. Throughout the years she has developed several programs which have significantly helped people with diabetes improve their ability to control their blood glucose levels.

Sue Johansen BS, RD, CDE is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with specific expertise in the nutritional aspects of diabetes management. She leads the group course sessions on nutritional management of diabetes, and offers individual medical nutrition counseling at the Diabetes Center.

Cherisse Desrosier MSW, LCSW is a mental health counselor in private practice in Johnson. She brings her expertise in the mind-body connection and its role in changing health behaviors to the group education programs.
